Stillwell Award 2006

Our paper on the Kenn Plateau in the northern Tasman Sea received the Stillwell Award 2006 of the Geological Society of Australia for the best paper:

Earth 2006 Melbourne

I presented two talks at the Earth2006 Australian Geological Convention in Melbourne this week:

  • "Anomalous tectonic subsidence in Australian intraplate basins" in the session "Geodynamics of Earth’s Evolution (Basins, breakup and continental evolution)":
  • "Deciphering intraplate basin evolution using open-source software" in the session "Resourcing and Innovation (Geoinformatics)"

This was another reason to go.

GSA Young author's award

I received the "Young authors' award" from the Geological Society of Australia for the 2005 paper in AJES The award will be presented at he Earth2006 conference in Melbourne in July.
