The research vessel Marion Dufresne is operated by the Institut Polaire Francais Paul Emile Victor the French Polar Institute. It is a state of the art oceanographic research platform, equipped with highresolution marine surveying tools and coring systems. The onboard facilities enable cutting edge marine science research in the areas of climate change, mineral resources, gas hydrates, biodiversity and ocean basement and continental evolution.
