This unit of study is specifically designed for post-graduates to develop basic qualifications in Geographic Information Systems. The Unit covers data storage and interrogation in GIS, map making, fundamental GIS operations, application of GIS to typical terrestrial and coastal resource management problems, GIS as an aid to resource decision-making, and modelling in GIS.
