Prof Paul Wessel

Paul Wessel is a professor of geophysics in the Department of Geology and Geophysics in the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology, University of Hawaii, USA. His main interests are hotspots and absolute plate motions, the global distribution of seamounts and implications for the intraplate volcanic budget, the global distribution of oceanic fracture zones, and data analysis methods and scientific software development, in particular the Generic Mapping Tools (GMT).

2) Reconstruction of the Ellice Basin
3) Development of GMT version 5
