Research
Dave has worked on a variety of coastal management problems including shoreface processes, wave setup and runup processes on beaches and in river entrances, as well as emergency management of coastal erosion, coastal monitoring and shoreline change detection. Dave’s recent work has mainly been on focussed on coastal risk analysis with current projects examining risk to communities in NSW associated with tsunamis and sea level rise.
Brief CV
Dave graduated with an Honours Degree in Marine Science in 1985 and a Master of Science in 1990. He has worked for various NSW Government Departments in the field of coastal management since 1985. Dave has been an adjunct lecturer at Sydney University between 2004 and 2008 and has held an Honorary Associate position since 2010. Between 2008 and 2010 he moved to the Torres Strait to work on coastal erosion and inundation issues impacting island communities with the Torres Strait Regional Authority. Dave is currently employed by the Office of Environment and Heritage as a Senior Geomorphologist.
