Staff Spotlight: Lan Hui

July 6 2016

We are very lucky here at the School of Geosciences to have the opportunity to work with our Research Officer, Ms Lan Hui!

Part of Lan's role involves fostering good working relationships and creating collaborative teaching arrangements, postgraduate student exchange (such as the very exciting 2+2 program with Wuhan University) and research opportunities between the School of Geosciences, The University of Sydney and Chinese universities such as China University of Geosciences, Ocean University of China, Wuhan University, University of Mining & Technology and more.

The School hosts numerous international students and visitors from various universities and Lan helps them settle in, feel more welcome, introduces them to our staff and students, provides helpful advice and support, and provides a positive learning and workplace environment for everyone.

Lan is also famous for hosting her delicious dumpling lunches! So make sure you come along for one of these - they're so yummy!

The School of Geosciences also hosts an ongoing Table Tennis Tournament open for everyone to join - thanks to our organiser Roman Teslyuk!

PS: Lan Hui was awarded 2016 Table Tennis Tournament 1st runner up!

Lan has organised various day trips for our international students, from yum cha lunches, beach trips, hike trips, Sydney tours, road trips, Christmas parties and a bunch of other fun activities! Check out the photo gallery on Facebook.
